The Monsoons in Delhi cannot make up it’s mind. Between heat, humidity and another dithering downpour, Serena called to let us know there was a rainbow in the eastern sky. We rushed over to Lii’s so we could get a good look. It was beautiful, as was the sunset from my bedroom balcony.
Today, we decided to study our neighborhood. I have taken to Debi’s Summer Scavenger Hunt invitation, courtesy Barb McCoy. We were surprised at how much we found between concrete and perspiration (anyone who is acquainted with the tropics and the Monsoons will understand!)
We marveled! “Isn’t God amazing?” Brandon exclaimed when we found a painted grasshopper, “Look at those colors!”
The rubbery sap of the milkweed, the pretty flowers constantly alluring winged and creeping visitors, the soft fruit pods and the fairy silken skeins on the seeds as they lay armadillo/ fir cone fashion were delightful. Sleeping until they fly away….

About Probhita
Quite ordinary, really.
Where I do consider myself extraordinary is in that I have been tremendously blessed with the sweetest family and the best of friends. It is nothing short of the richest luxury to be loved as I am!
Being challenged to think and break away from status quo is a personal priority. I believe that the Creator of the universe has a plan for my life and random chance is not the way of my existence. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I deeply uphold tolerance - I may not concede to a thought being right - but will always respect its view.
The privilege of having the best parents in the world and growing with caring sisters in a rather unique setting is an aspect closely cherished. My youngest sister, despite being oceans away, always remains my closest friend and my biggest encourager!
I have a wonderful husband who loves me and two gorgeous children. I presently live in India. This blog is the embarking of a journey with Charlotte Mason's philosophy of education as I continue to homeschool my children. I hope their childhood will be as fulfilling and memorable, if not, more, than mine.
Hey that looks like so much fun!
Looking forward to beautiful nature study times together in Goa!
Hey Probhita,
This is Caryl Carapiett. I used to go to GGF in Bombay, you’ll probably remember me from there. I came across your blog while doing a search on Google. I couldn’t believe that it was actually you. It’s been ages!! Wow! Love your blog. I”m glad I found it.
Hi Caryl, of course, I do remember you!! It sure has been ages! Great to hear from you! Are you still in Bombay?
Nope, not in Bombay anymore. I moved to California after I got married 8 years ago. Mike and I have three lil’ ones ages 4, 5 and 6 so life is full, but so very blessed! 🙂
I don’t blog, but I do love reading blogs, and I’m glad I stumbled upon yours! 🙂
Wow! That’s wonderful news! I have visited San Francisco and I have some dear friends in San Jose. It’s such a beautiful state! The “full but blessed” life – it brings challenge and sweet contentment – so happy for you!
So glad to hear you’re playing along with the Summer Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt! I think it helps kids & parents alike to pay closer attention to the small details. After all, nature is all around us – even in a concrete jungle!
Very true!
Your blog is so cool! My kids and I are enjoying it!
