My friend, Lii, had not been feeling well. After a turning a pale shade of yellow she decided it was time for a blood test, which proved positive for Jaundice.
My mother is an avid advocate of natural remedies and when I spoke with her about Lii’s condition. She immediately recalled that she had seen a White Castor Oil Plant next door to me. A crucial ingredient for the Jaundice cure. She gave me specific instructions and with the patients permission I put together this fairly simple remedy.
Her Bilirubin count registered at 3.03 where the normal is 0.2-1.0.
This remedy is a one day, one time treatment and needs to be followed up with a very strict diet. No oil, no meats, no dairy and of course no alcohol (in casing you were wishing otherwise!)
I divided the paste into three little balls. It looked something like this when I was done. The dosage: morning, afternoon and night.
Brandon sampled the scrapings and said, “Not bad!” Lii was to swallow them (or chew, depending on preference). If I remember correctly, she chewed first, which resulted in some interesting facial expressions, I must add. Not quite sure, but she might have decided to swallow the other two doses.
At any rate, we took advantage of the opportunity and decided to do a study on the Castor Oil Plant and updated our Nature Journals with quite impressive drawings of the leaf. This plant grows wild in Delhi and has amazing medicinal properties. Let me mention, it is highly toxic, so if out on a walk, I wouldn’t recommend a random chewing of the leaf. The seeds are even more poisonous.
Well, I shall update this post with Lii’s Bilirubin count after a week and we shall see if the treatment is truly as effective as supposed.
Ricinus Communis, White Castor Oil
My second bilirubin count was 2.4. That means that in a week, with the three arandi/garlic/black pepper pebbles (I think arandi is the correct Hindi word, at least according to Wikipedia) and my no oil/butter/meat/dairy/sugar diet, my count went down 0.9 points. I wonder if I could take another three of those magic very garlicky pebbles? Would that help the count down another 0.9 points? The “Presley” fellow (my friendly pathologist) told me to take Liv52 for a week then come back again.
I’m feeling good though. And my eyes today are 95% ok. It’s awesome. And I played some squash today. And I had yet another plate of mashed potatoes and leeks with steamed broccoli and carrots. Man, another three weeks of this. I’m hungry all the time. I think of food all the time. I want to eat all the time. Oh well, such is life with jaundice.
So Sorry! With regards to the hungry-all-the-time syndrome! But just think the end is in view!
I know, it’s wonderful! Who said the best things in life aren’t free? Well…that is if you don’t think of nasty tasting stuff as a high price to pay!!
Thanks for sharing this recipe! Nice to know that remedies can be found in simplest thing!
Don’t forget to send me your blood report, Ms. Guinea Pig! That could sound ‘twilight-ish’! REPORT! Report!
Weellll, thank you for taking the time to make the three little pebbles. I doubt it was an easy process to pound leaves into something moist. Really, thanks for taking the time. I do see a difference in some of the symptoms already today, more than I did before the magic marbles. And yes, you’re right, I did swallow the other two whole. Not that it tasted sooooo bad, but it was a sort onslaught of garlic. And the garlic taste lingered a good while after. But thankfully, there are things like ginger, cinnamon, or cloves for one to chew on after to help with the taste and smell of garlic. Poor garlic, it gets such a bad rap just because of its smell.
